Dark garnet in color, this Cabernet Sauvignon showcases aromas of dark raspberry, cinnamon bark, fresh fig and toasted cedar. Flavors of blackberry compote, dried blueberry, blackstrap molasses, fresh oregano, and an integrated note of toasted coconut coat the palate. The finish is smooth and slightly drying with layers of dill and tropical vanilla.
Sourced from two excellent vineyard blocks in Lodi, these blocks are known to produce exceptional wines. The first block provided a strong backbone while the second offered more fruit forward characteristics. To further add softness, a substantial amount of Merlot from Lodi and Mendocino was blended in. Finally, a small amount of Petite Sirah Clarksburg Petite Sirah and Lodi Malbec was added to provide more complexity and fruit flavors.
The ultimate steak wine, we recommend a rich hanger steak or a flat iron to stand up to the bold and dark flavors of this Cabernet Sauvignon. Another excellent pairing would be juicy Carne Asada with roasted spring onions and a side of pinto beans cooked with a ham hock.
